Hey everyone, sad news to share today. My best buddy from high school and our classmate, Raymond Kimball, passed away this morning from a lingering illness. I’ll post details of any Houston-area services when I get them. Ray had lived up here in Dallas for awhile now with his wife, Kathy. Below is a shot of Ray (center) in ‘85 with classmate Mike McIntyre and fellow Wildcat, Chappell Jordan.

Raymond Kimball passed away peacefully at his home in Dallas on Monday, April 5, 2021. He was 54 years of age.

Raymond was born on August 18, 1966 in Galveston to Linda Raymond Kimball and William Brice Kimball. When he was four the family moved to Germany for three years, eventually settling in Houston, where Raymond grew up. He attended the Spring Branch Public Schools, graduating from Westchester High School in 1984. He enjoyed high school sports and played on the Westchester Soccer Team.

He continued his education at Austin College in Sherman where he pledged Lambda Chi fraternity and graduated in 1988. He received his MBA at TCU. His professional career was as a sales representative for several companies in the Houston/Dallas area.

Raymond was a kind and gentle man with a strong love of family and friends - quite capable of big hugs and a ready laugh. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine A. Kinser, his parents, Linda and Bill Kimball, brother Paul Alan Kimball, niece Catherine Anne and nephew, William Alan. Extended family left to mourn Raymond are his aunt and uncle, Janis and Peter Gabele, cousins Jeff Gabele, wife Kris, children Dillon and Esther Grace, Eric Gabele and wife Angela. He was predeceased by his beloved grandparents (Nana & Papa) - Mildred P. & Floyd L. Raymond of Austin.

He was an avid sports fan with season tickets to the Oilers and later the Texans. He loved golfing with his many friends.

Raymond loved to travel with friends and family and saw many parts of the world. He shared a love of animals with his family and had two rescue dogs and three cats including a three legged cat he named Scooter.

The family wants to extend special thanks to his physicians and multiple friends who provided support and comfort to Raymond and the family in the last weeks of his life.
