Michael "Mike" Vincent Gubera

Hello Westchester family, 
I wanted everyone to know that the memorial service for Mike Gubera has been set. The service will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, on Eldridge and I -10, on Saturday January 21st, at 12:30. Please come and join us to celebrate Mike's wonderful and full life. I'm sure there will be lots of laughs. Memorial Oaks has a Web page with his obituary and guest book. Please share some memories.

Hi Westchester friends,

I hope everyone had a very happy holiday with family and friends. Unfortunately, I have some sad news to pass along. Michael Gubera passed away December 24, 2016. At this time, funeral arrangements are pending and a memorial service will be held in a few weeks. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers...they have been through so much. I am grateful to have known him well. He never failed to let me or anyone he loved know how much he loved them, and I was lucky enough to be one of his best friends. May he finally rest in peace.

Beloved son, brother, uncle and friend Michael Vincent Gubera left this life unexpectedly on December 24, 2016, at the age of 51. 

Michael was born on October 19, 1965 in Cleveland, but soon after moved with his family to the place he would call home, Houston. Saint Thomas Virgin Islands was another place that he would call home after spending 19 years living and working in the Virgin Islands. 

He is preceded in death by his father, John, mother, Patricia, and brothers, Robert "Bob" Patrick Gubera (WHS 1980) and John Anthony Gubera, Jr. (WHS 1973).

He is survived by his sister, Theresa (WHS 1972), brothers, Tom and Jim, thirteen nieces and nephews, twelve great-nieces and nephews, and more friends than can be mentioned who were all loved just as deeply as family.

A memorial with the family will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
