RIP Mark........I'll always remember your kind smile and laugh.  What fond memories I have growing up with you and Pam!  I have many memories, but one stands out in my mind- all of us playing in your parents' motor home on the CB....talking to truckers- I don't remember your "handle", but I remember that Pam's was "Tiger Baby".  Oh my....as adults, we'd be horrified if our children were talking to random truckers on a regular basis!!

Mark, you'll be greatly missed by your family, friends and loved ones.  I am terribly sorry that I can't come to the service but I'll certainly be there in spirit with the rest of the "Barryknoll gang".  Until we meet again......Jenny (Healy) Johns.

I will not be able to make Mark’s Memorial Service but I do want to share some memories I have from our days at WHS.

I never really knew Mark before we sat together in Ms. Rathgaber’s Government class senior year. I had ascended to the top of the Westchester Wildcat Marching Band hierarchy which gave me about the same social cache as the president of JETS – apologies to whomever might have been the President of JETS.

Then one day Mark asked if I wanted to hang out one Saturday night and he took me out in the Trans-Am to some place near St. Jean Vianney where I had my first beer and generally had my first exposure to the cooler element of WHS (apologies to my comrades in the Band who may be on this distribution list – we were a lot of things but cool was not one of them). I also learned that one should never sit or lean against  a Trans-Am while wearing Levi’s because of the havoc the rivets wreak on the paint.

Soon, I started getting invited to after game parties, etc. and generally felt like I fitted in a little better because he had extended his hand in friendship – not to mention the fact that he also moved me beyond our shared love of Bruce Springsteen to introduce me to Neil Young via Live Rust which I was, by sad coincidence, listening to this weekend.

My sincerest condolences to Mark’s family and to all who loved him and shared his friendship.

Mark was my brother Eric's best friend and he became my honorary 8th brother.  He was a part of our family for 40+ years, and I miss his huge heart, sweet nature, and great smile.
