Lee Ann was an extraordinary human being and wonderful sister. She moved from Houston to Westport, CT, for her junior and senior years of high school, leaving many great and dear friends behind in Houston. She later went to TCU and after graduation worked in banking in Dallas.

She and Doug Myers, a Baylor grad and also a banker, married and eventually moved to Chicago, where Lee Ann began a new phase of her life, going back to school to be a physician's assistant. She graduated from Chicago Medical School in 1999 and became Evanston Hospital's first PA in the neruology department. She absolutely loved this second career, and her patients, many terminally ill, adored her, but it was all too brief.

She died of sudden cardiac arrest on Christmas Eve, 2001, while on vacation with her husband and in-laws in Key West, Florida. She died at the same age, 42, as her mother had in 1974. Her funeral at Christ Church in Lake Forest, Illinois, outside Chicago, was attended by several hundred mourners, many of them patients, doctors, and family members who had known her at the hospital. Lee Ann was laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie, Illinois.

Such a graceful woman! I miss do miss her! She was the epitomy of grace and kindness, attributes with which she left me quite blessed.

Ann was stuck with me in homeroom class since we were both "W's". Bless her heart. I remember when her own mother died and how Ann had such amazing strength throughout that whole ordeal. Ann was always kind. She was always patient. Ann was always sweet. I was so surprised to hear that she had passed away at the same age as what her mother had died. I heard that she was walking on the beach with her husband and died in his arms. That's the way we would all hope to go one day... With a view of serenity, peace, and beauty and in the arms of someone we love.

I was so blessed to live across the street and about four doors down from Ann on Kingsride. Ann was kind, so very smart, fun and had such strong character. I was so sad to see that she had passed away, and happy to hear that she was walking on a beach with her husband when it happened.
