If I remember correctly, Jim died from a motor cycle accident in 1976. He was a good friend, had a love for life, and had compassion for all.

Jim was my best friend. He died in a motorcycle accident. Sometimes I go see him at the cemetary by my house.

Jimmy was a great guy and a special friend.  We rode motorcycles together and built a 'fort' down at the bayou.  I was a classmate in Mr. Dawson's TV repair class at the Career Center along with Greg Hill, another good friend.  Jimmy and I chatted with CB radios and we had bought identical antennas with tall towers to put up at both our parent's homes just prior to his accident.

This is a photo from my birthday down at our beach house in Jamaica Beach.  Jimmy is standing on the left.

Front: Jimmy Daniel, Ron Graves, me, my sister Lisa

Back; Mark Knudsen, Jeff Parker, Mike Malay,  Bruce Dunwidde (half of him anyway).

I took this photo of Jimmy out in front of Westchester (Kingsride Lane and Yorkchester) back when I was experimenting with black & white film processing.  He rode this bike sucessfully for several years, and had just gotten a Honda 750.  He only rode the new bike for a week.

Jimmy was very good with electronics.  He had gotten a job with a TV repair shop after high school and he was riding his bike to work.  Jimmy was passing a tandem axle dump truck.  I want to say it was Hayes Road, but not sure after all these years.   Suddenly the truck turned left into an unmarked road. The truck might have signaled but the light was out so the point is moot.  He was crushed beneath that truck.  I still remember John Troxell calling me and saying "Dane, are you sitting down? ... Jimmy's dead."  I served as a pallbearer in the funeral.  His passing was an experience that marked my life.  I remember that his CB antenna never got put up and remained in his parent's yard for a long time.  His father, also a James Daniel, had bought a Chrysler Cordoba and he kept it for years because it was a favorite of Jimmy's.

Good friend.

Great loss.

Miss you Jimmy.
