Marc Leonard LaNoue passed away in his sleep Sunday morning the 19th of January 2014, less than 12 hours after his mother, Veronica Jean LaNoue, passed away after a long illness. Marc entered this world on the 12th of September 1955, in Rockford, Illinois where he lived until his family moved to Houston in 1970.
He attended Spring Branch High School and University of Houston. For 40 years he worked for his father, Leonard Francis LaNoue, helping to run Metal Cutting Specialists as VP of Sales & Marketing. Marc traveled to many places in the world, but his one true passion was racing both cars and motorcycles. He was a real champion, fearless with a positive determination to win which he did on many occasions. Marc holds the record time for his first place win in 2012 in Vintage Class at Pike's Peak International Hill Climb. He also crewed for A. J. Foyt at Indi.
Marc is survived by his father, Leonard; his sisters, Michele M. LaNoue and Sheila French; his nephews, Scott Meyers and Jeff Meyers; and his niece, Nathalie Seidl.
Friends are cordially invited to gather with the family and share remembrances of Marc from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening, on Friday, the 24th of January in the grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. A memorial service is to be conducted on Saturday, the 25th of January, at eleven o'clock in the morning in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons. In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in Marc's memory may be directed to Sunshine Camp, 2225 Andrew Zilker Road, Austin, TX, 78746.
