After graduation, I went to LSU, where I was in Tiger Band. I graduated in May, 1977 with a Bachelor of Music, then again in December, 1978 with a Master of Music degree. I moved to Philadelphia in August of 1979, and studied privately for two years with Louis Rosenblatt, who was the English hornist of the Philadelphia Orchestra at that time. I started getting playing work by the end of my first year there. I free-lanced around the Philadelphia area until 1987. I got married in January of 1987. My husband, Michael, got a job in New Hampshire, and we moved to NH in July of 1987. I have free-lanced all over New England since then. We have three kids: Emilia (19), who finished her first year at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. She aspires to sing opera. Unfortunately, the bank that gave her a loan so she could go to school last year refused to give her one so she can go back this year. I am determined that she will be back there. She did very well, and was the happiest I've ever seen her. She would love to be a permanent New Yorker. The Metropolitan Opera became her second home away from home. Peter (16 will be a junior at Campbell High School here in Litchfield. I have no idea yet what he would like to do with his life. He and I are huge Boston Celtics fans, and have been to many games. Going to games is my favorite thing to do outside of playing music. Andrew (14) will b a freshman at Campbell High School in September. Who knows what he will do when he finishes high school. However, don't be surprised if you see him on Jeopardy at some point! I'm seriously thinking about working on a doctorate. If I do, I will have to go to Boston University or New England Conservatory. Stay tuned...
