Catherine LaRue Kelley went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2007, after a courageous 19-month battle with cancer. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 27, 1954, and also lived in Oklahoma City and Denver, Colorado. She grew up in Houston and graduated with honors from WestchesterSenior High School and summa cum laude from TexasChristianUniversity in 1976. Catherine had a long career beginning as a home-extension agent in West Texas, then as a teacher at MilbyHigh School, a special education teacher at Cy-FairSchool District, and most currently teaching home-bound students in the NewCaneySchool District. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sam, Sr. and Percie LaRue and Gregory S. and Ethel Moore of Corpus Christi, Texas; her aunt Udeen and her uncles, John Bolthouse and Monte Moore. Cathy is so loved and will be greatly missed by her sons, Ryan Patrick Kelley and Christopher Reid Kelley; her mother Catherine Moore LaRue; her father Sam O. LaRue and his wife Sally; her sisters Julia Diane LaRue and Medda Rauhut, M.D., and Laura Gay LaRue; her brother James Gregory LaRue and his wife Julie, and their children, Trace Gregory and Rylan Marie. She is also is survived by a stepbrother, stepsisters, their families, and numerous friends. Catherine's family would like to thank her friends, the New Caney School District Staff, HomeWatch Caregivers and Asera Care Hospice.
