Very sad news from this week: Suzie (Ater) Lundgren has died. There was great confidence that she would survive a year, at least, with her diagnosis. Instead it was so fast...2023 was Texas roadhouse-dancing the two-step in the spring, New Orleans in March, France in June, first overwhelming pain and tests in late August, diagnosis in October, passed away in January.   RIP, dear friend.  I do miss you.

From her Caring Bridge site:

Our dear Suzie, beloved daughter, sister, wife, auntie, friend and dancer extraordinaire died yesterday, January 28 at 2 pm. She was surrounded with love - not just with those who were in the room, but with the love of all of you who buoyed her up with your messages of support during these most difficult months of her life. She was courageous in her efforts to stay with us, but when it became too difficult, Suzie was at peace with her decision to let go. She was both amazed and grateful for the outpouring of love expressed in these messages. She read and treasured each one.

Her family sends a beautiful thank you and goodbye from - Suzie.

John McCormick

She was such a lovely person, lived across the street from me in high school. Was so great to see her at what I believe was our 40th reunion.

She was living in Santa Cruz at the time. I had not seen her since high school. This news comes as a shock, but comforting to know she was surrounded by love at her passing.

Janie, I'm so sorry for your loss. Susie was a sweetheart.
