Jerrold Lee Hudson

August 26, 1951 - August 2, 2018

Jerrold Lee (Jerry) Hudson passed away in Tulsa on August 2, 2018.

He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.

Jerry was born in Pueblo, Colorado on August 26, 1951 to Jim and Barbara Hudson. He was the youngest of two children. The family moved frequently, but finally settled in Houston where Jerry graduated from Westchester High School in 1969. Jerry followed his sister, Kathy, to Oklahoma State University, where he met and married his devoted wife of 45 years, Nancy Jo Arnold. They were married on December 30, 1972 in Oklahoma City.

After earning a Bachelor's and an MBA from the OSU College of Business, Jerry began what would become a long and distinguished career in banking in Tulsa. Jerry worked for several banks in Tulsa and made many close friends throughout his career. His last stop in banking was a long run as president and CEO of Valley National Bank. Jerry finished his career by stepping out of banking and became an executive vice president at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Oklahoma for a handful of years.

In retirement, Jerry stayed active in the Tulsa community through his work on several boards. He was most proud of his work as Chairman of the OSU Medical Authority & Trust as well as his work with the Oklahoma United Methodist Foundation. He was an active board member at AmeriTrust, and spent many years as a faithful congregant and leader on various committees at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.

All those who knew Jerry knew of his love for OSU and Cowboy sports of any kind. He took great joy in watching his grandkids play sports and participate in activities.

Jerry was preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister, Kathy.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter Jill Ridener and her husband, Brian; son, David; his beloved grandchildren, Jackson, Annabella, Andrew, and Lucy.

A memorial service will be held at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church on Monday, August 6th, at 2:00 PM. Contributions in his memory may be made to the OSU Medical Center, to the Oklahoma United Methodist Foundation, or to a favorite charity. Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel, 918-291-3500.
