In Memory

Barbara Ann O'Brien (Noble) - Class Of 1968

Barbara Ann O’Brien Nobel

October 24, 1949 – August 19, 2014

It is with sadness and love that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, dear mother and adored grandmother Barbara Ann O'Brien Noble. After a long illness but a courageous fight, she passed away peacefully, August 19, 2014 surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Richardson, Texas. She was 64.

Visitation will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest in the Hillcrest Mausoleum Chapel East on August 21, 2014 from 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas on August 22, 2014 at 2pm with Father Jonathan Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Sparkman Hillcrest is handling the funeral arrangements.

Barbara is survived by her high school sweetheart of 48 years and husband of 43 years, Robert William Noble, her daughter Christian Noble Pruitt and her husband Ron Pruitt, son Robert Matthew Noble and his wife Lena Noble and her son William Patrick Noble and his wife Amber Noble. Barbara had (and thoroughly enjoyed) her four grandchildren, Isabella Nicole Noble (5), Catherine Collette Pruitt (5), Joshua Matthew Noble (3) and Daniel William Pruitt (3). Her sister Karen O'Brien MacManus, her husband Michael Macmanus Jr. and her nephew Michael Macmanus III. Her brother Brien O'Brien, his wife D'ann O'Brien and her nieces Katy O'Brien Schilhab and Laura O'Brien Arnold.

Barbara was born in Beaumont, TX October 24, 1949 to her parents Matthew E. O'Brien and Dorothea Beene O'Brien. She is preceded in death by her parents. Barbara was simply incandescent. She lit up every room she walked into with her infectious spirit, kindness, beauty, empathy and compassion for others. She adored her family as much as they did her. Her favorite thing to do was to get together with her family and friends over good food and fun conversation. Barbara was a spectacular cook and her spaghetti and meatballs were legendary, rivaled only by her chicken tetrazzini and quiches. She was always up for a party game, but rarely finished one before conversation and peals of laughter took over. She loved Liza Minnelli, Frank Sinatra, I Love Lucy, just about any musical, watching waves at the beach, and to laugh. More recently Grommy (as she was affectionately called), doted famously on her grandchildren as she cheered on their every milestone, birthday, accomplishment with gusto. She was their biggest fan.

Memorial donations may be made to the DePelchin Children's Center, www.Depelchin.org.

Condolences may be left in Barbara's online guestbook at www.Sparkman-Hilcrest.com. We would also request that you seriously consider organ donation.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to talented doctors, nurses and staff of Baylor University Medical Center and Liver Consultants of Texas in Dallas for their exceptional care and compassion.
