JOHN MOVIUS RECORDS, 53, of Houston, TX, passed away suddenly at home, on July 25, 2014. John was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 24, 1960. He is survived by his daughter, Kendall M. Records of Sugar Land, TX; his mother, Judith Movius MacPherson, of Houston, TX; his father, John Merritt Records MD and wife Pamela of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Jill Records Kirk and husband, I. Ray Kirk, III MD of Houston, TX; and a half-sister, Mikki Records Owens and husband Mark of Phoenix, AZ. John remained good friends with his former wife, Tracey Butler Hite and her husband Danny. He is also survived by special aunts, Joan M. Ischinger of Houston, TX, and Judith R. Jones, of Columbus, IN. He is also survived by very close cousins, Debra Ischinger, Gene Ischinger and wife Jill of Campodello, South Carolina, Julie Lane and husband Brian of Houston, TX, David Ischinger and wife Valerie of Oxford, NJ, Trent Jones and wife Sally of Kansas City, MO, Jenny Jones Guia and husband Carlos of Las Vegas, NV, and other cousins.
John was predeceased by his step-father, William J. MacPherson, MD; grandparents, Alfred H.Movius, MD and wife Dorothy of River Forest, IL and Naples, FL, and Arthur Records MD and wife Ruth of Franklin, IN; half-brother, Mark Records of Phoenix, AZ; and aunt, Diana M. Rathbun of Galveston, TX.
John was raised in his early years in Franklin, IN. He spent the remainder of his life in Houston, TX. He graduated from Westchester High School, Class of 1979, and Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, with a BS in Geology. He ran track in both high school and college and played football. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. John started his career in sales with NL Industries and worked in medical sales for Caremark, Inc., Infusaid, and as Manager, Coagulation Product Sales of CSL Behring. His career in sales was highly successful. He was awarded numerous national sales awards.
He was a lifelong member of the Houston area Phi Delta Theta Alumni Association and former member of the Lone Star Board of Directors of the National Hemophilia Foundation.
John loved sports of all kinds. He was an excellent golfer, playing courses all over the world. He participated in competitive water-skiing for many years. He loved fresh-water fishing and acquired a bass boat by the time he was in high school mapping out Lake Livingston. John's friends have described him as a sensitive, charismatic, loyal, and determined person always trying to achieve the best but also trying to help other people achieve as well. He never knew a stranger and remained life-long friends with grade school, high school, college, business associates and his numerous golfing friends. His family acknowledges the lifelong support his friends gave to him.
His family will also remember and miss a very bright, artistic, loving father, son, and brother, who could create magic with his smile, wit, and storytelling.
One of John's loves was serving as a Camp Counselor for ten years for Camp Ailihpomeh (Hemophilia spelled backwards). He spent a week each summer in Meridien, TX as counselor to ten to eleven year old boys with blood disorders. He enjoyed his time with the boys and went armed with ghost stories each year. There will be a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM, on Monday, August 4, at Bethany Christian Church; 3223 Westheimer Rd. A reception will immediately follow in the church parlor.

Lori Helene Jackson (Smith) (1979)

I was saddened to see the news that John passed away.  I know he's in a better place in a perfect heaven with our Lord. In high school John was a great friend to me, I'll never forget his wonderful smile and willingness to help others.

Stephen "Steve" Edward Stinson (1980)

John was on the track team with me in high school.  He was very funny and sociable.  Very nice person.
